Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Program Supervisor.

In this role, the successful candidate The Program Supervisor will provide ESOL instruction to one class and oversee the instruction and services provided by other ESOL instructors.

Job Responsibilities:
    • Supervise teachers to ensure that best practices in instruction and administrative duties are followed.
    • Ensure that lessons at site are are student centered, logically sequenced, level appropriate, and address varying learning styles and student needs.
    • Ensure that all students participate in lessons, elicit response from less vocal students, and work one on one with students as appropriate
    • Promote use of website by teachers and students to support classroom instruction and/or project based learning.
    • Maintain classroom atmosphere that is conducive to learning
    • Facilitate monthly staff meetings and identify staff development opportunities for teachers.
    • Assist teachers in sharing best practices, lesson plans, and teacher resources
    • Work with support services to ensure that students non-academic needs are met. This includes referring students for assistance and coordinating with counselors to arrange and prepare workshops
    • Assist with coordination of registration and orientation, as well as TABE testing and TASC referrals
    • Accumulate, record, and report student statistics regarding participation, progress, and outcomes
    • Develop strategies to integrate job readiness and college readiness into curricula
    • Provide instruction in all major subjects to prepare students for the TASC exam.
    • Conduct quarterly observations of teachers with scheduled feedback sessions

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a B.A and at least two years of experience as adult education instructor and at least one year of experience in supervision and/or program coordination.

Preferred Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal skills and strong academic skills in all subjects.
TESOL certification.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $32.00 - $33.30 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
