Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Assistant Teacher - Fulltime - M- F - Varies - 8a - 4p, 9a - 5p or 10a -6p - Brooklyn.

In this role, the successful candidate Assist Head Teacher in Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate lessons; work with a team to provide stimulating environment and activities; encourage parent involvement; set individual goals and record anecdotal observations for each child; keep room clean; help with toileting; other various classroom duties.

    • Notifies parents and director when children are sick or get hurt
    • Uses bleach solutions to clean toys and surfaces as required
    • Uses the Germ Box effectively
    • Follows the diaper changing / potty procedures for children accordingly and as needed
    • Follows the When to Wash Hand policies as posted in the classroom
    • Follows the hand washing procedures accordingly
    • Inspects outdoor and indoor play areas prior to play

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or GED
1 year relevant experience
Warm, caring and outgoing personality
Ability to work well with others
Able to create and maintain positive relationships with children, parents and staff
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years experience in childcare
Health and Safety Trainings
CDA Certificate
Associate or higher Degree in Early Childhood Education
Bilingual

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $31,200.00 - $35,494.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
