We have an exciting opportunity to join our Biopharmaceuticals Medical team (BPM) as Global Medical Affairs Leader (GMAL), Obesity, working on our growing AstraZeneca pipeline of novel combinations and mechanisms to target broad weight management opportunities across different patient populations. BioPharmaceuticals Medical (BPM) ensures the best patient outcomes by providing healthcare decision-makers around the world with the evidence and confidence they need on AstraZeneca (AZ) therapies. We support our internal stakeholders with medical strategic insight and expertise, with the aim of achieving scientific leadership, whilst aspiring to be a great place to work keeping patients at the core of everything we do. Introduction to role: Reporting directly to the Global Medical Head, Obesity, the GMAL is an important strategic business role, with the ability to pair unique medical expertise with insight from markets, healthcare professionals, patients, and health systems to develop and execute world-class medical strategies for AstraZeneca medicines and market-shaping teams, globally. Beyond being a key member of the Global Medical Team (GMT), the GMAL acts as a strategic partner and leader across the medical enterprise, R&D, and commercial functions. The role serves as a conduit between the Global Product Team (GPT) and Medical teams in the Regions (US, EU-Canada, China, Japan & International) and major markets, ensuring the needs of marketing company affiliates, healthcare professionals and patients are recognized in ambitious Global product and disease area strategies, and that medical teams around the world are equipped to deliver outstanding product launches, transform health systems, deliver practice-defining studies and real world evidence, and accelerate delivery of AstraZeneca clinical trials.
