An excellent career opportunity is currently available for a Sr R&D Technician within Honeywell UOP's R&D New Materials synthesis group located in Des Plaines, IL. This position provides a unique opportunity to support discovery of novel materials working with some of the world's leading zeolite and metal oxide inventors. POSITION OVERVIEW The Sr R&D Technician role will join our Des Plaines New Materials discovery and synthesis team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our research and development efforts, working in the laboratory to set up, run and workup inorganic synthesis reactions under the direction of a lead scientist, maintain lab organization, submit samples for characterization, and perform screening tests for applications. RESPONSIBILITIES Set up, execute, and workup inorganic synthesis reactions under the direction of a lead scientist. Prepare and submit samples for characterization (LIMS) and interface with analytical scientists as needed. Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies and organization. Communicate with team members on experiment progress, observations, and timeline. Maintain a detailed laboratory notebook.
