Description PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION IN ITS ENTIRETY AS THE TESTING PROCESS FOR MONTGOMERY COUNTY PARK POLICE HAS CHANGED. The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) is currently seeking applicants for Park Police Officer Candidates within Montgomery County. The Park Police secure and protect over 59,000 acres of park property in Prince George's and Montgomery counties, on a 24-hour basis. If you meet the requirements you will receive a formal invitation via email to take the Written Examination. The written exam is designed to assess cognitive ability measured with three non-cognitive measures: personality constructs, integrity, and biographical data. Applications that are mailed or hand-delivered will not be considered. Candidates will be screened and those meeting the minimum qualifications will receive a notification via email to attend the exam. Dress: Business casual attire for the written exam. IMPORTANT: You must bring a current, unexpired, valid driver's license and signed Medical Clearance Form with you on the day of testing. If you are unable to make the allotted date and time of the entry level exam, you will be required to submit another application for consideration and will be notified of the next testing date at that time. Test dates will not be rescheduled. Information Session: Candidates with passing scores are required to attend a virtual "information session" before being scheduled for an oral board interview. Minimum Qualifications Experience: No previous experience in law enforcement is required. Education: Graduation from high school or high school equivalency certificate recognized by the Maryland State Board of Education. Examination: Candidate applicants must pass the Commission's written Police Officer Candidate examination, must pass an oral interview conducted by a Police Assessment board. A background investigation will be made on each candidate and the candidate must meet the Commission's suitability requirements. Medical and Physical Standards: Park Police Candidates must be able to successfully pass a medical examination based on the Commission's medical standards for Park Police administered by a Commission approved medical physician prior to appointment. U.S. citizen and not less than 21 years old at the time of application. At least 21 years of age at the time of application.
