THE OPPORTUNITY

Job Description: Decatur Logistics Manager

This position has a broad range of responsibilities reaching out into production, warehousing, railroad, and trucking areas of the plant. There is a strong liaison connection with Primient corporate supply chain. The candidate must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills. This role works closely with plant personnel to coordinate inbound/outbound shipments. The selected employee will work closely with the local rail and truck servicing providers to monitor all inbound and outbound logistical needs including manufactured products, chemicals, and ingredients. This position requires the employee to coordinate with multiple contractor groups daily. The qualified candidate must be effective at multitasking in a fast-paced environment. The position supports plant logistics 24/7 outside daily hours as needed. Adhering to EHS - policies and procedures.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum high school diploma, college preferred.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office applications
  • SAP end user experience required.
  • Be self-motivating with ability to focus on details and prioritize tasks.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with personnel at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple contractor groups and outside agencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • SAP Specialist for warehousing logistics - rail cars, finished products, shipments transaction.
  • TMS system, yard master, railtrac, sharepoint administrator (internal systems)
  • Urgent resolution of production errors in SAP and truck/rail/packaging movement.SAP trainer, mentor

  • Rail switching & track maintenance.
    • Facilitate repair car movement to - UTLX -union tank car repair.
    • Coordinate internal rail service provider. Oversee working car lists- rail switching.
    • Interact and Cultivate relationships with Local/National NS CN and DREI
    • Administer rail fleet utilization with a strong partnership with the Network Transportation Team.
    • Optimize rail assets to minimize freight expense and maintain a workable environment.
    • Responsible for effective rail car movements through partnership with the Grain Merchandising.
  • LCL Trucking Gate
    • Oversight of 3rd party contractor in a scale house weigh facility team
    • Oversight of all inbound and outbound plant traffic.
    • Coordinate LTL account for all outbound shipments to include SAP processing.
    • Support 5th wheel- in plant shuttling
    • Organize intra plant shuttling to 3rd party warehouses.
  • Inventory management- rail/ truck /packaged materials
    • SAP corrections related to truck/rail/packaged materials.
    • SAP inventory auditing and inventory adjusting-daily/monthly/annually
  • Warehousing
    • Managing logistical movements of finished material in a variety of packing/containers
    • Reprocess and blocked stock adjustments.
    • 3rd party warehouse liaison
  • Administrative
    • Invoices for scale companies, fuel, all rail materials
    • CATS labor approvals
    • QA liaison between labs
    • Routinely integrated with Customer Service, Plant, Contractors, Rail/Truck representatives.
    • Create and maintain fluid Purchase requisition, Purchase order and invoicing for Logistics.
    • SME iInvolvement in Continuous Improvement initiatives affiliated with Logistics.
    • Process returns in SAP not limited to just customer, but warehouse packed as well. This will also require the understanding of lab results to process.
    • Align with Finance team to make corrections based on returns for accurate yields.

ABOUT YOU
