Job Overview

The Director, WNM Program Manager ("Program Manager") will oversee and manage the Macy's WorryNoMore™ (WNM) Protection Plan Program and will be responsible for ensuring the overall success, including strategic growth, operational excellence that delivers a best-in-class customer experience while simplifying the complexities of an insurance backed service contract program. The Program Manager will coordinate with cross functional teams and external partners to deliver a high performing profitable business to Macy's.

The Program Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of WNM care & protection plans supporting relevant categories. This role requires strategic thinking, excellent leadership, and a deep understanding of customer needs to ensure the highest level of service and satisfaction. The Program Manager will work closely with various departments to align WNM plans with the company's overall business strategy and objectives, and perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and analytical leader with a proven track record in developing and managing customer-centric care and protection plans. They possess strong financial acumen, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to lead and mentor a high-performing team while fostering a collaborative and customer-centric culture. With exceptional program management and communication skills, they will ensure the plans are competitive, innovative, and aligned with company goals. The candidate will effectively collaborate with various departments, handle escalated issues, and continuously improve plan features based on market trends and customer feedback.

What You Will Do
  • Develop and implement comprehensive and customer-centric WNM care & protection plans, aligning them with the company's strategic goals and customer service standards.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor offerings to ensure the company's WNM plans are competitive and innovative, continuously evaluating and enhancing plan features and benefits based on customer feedback and market trends.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of WNM plans, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and high-quality service delivery through relationships with third-party service providers and insurers.
  • Establish annual goals and hold P&L responsibility for the total WNM business across all categories.
  • Monitor and evaluate the financial performance and customer satisfaction of WNM plans, making necessary adjustments to improve customer retention and identify opportunities for cost savings and increased efficiency.
  • Manage contractual obligations and service level agreements with vendors to ensure strong performance and collaborate with them to develop and implement training programs for colleagues on WNM plans.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of WNM Advisors, fostering a collaborative and customer-centric culture, setting performance goals, and conducting regular check-ins and performance reviews.
  • Engage Store Leaders to understand the execution of programs, address areas of concern, and ensure WNM plans enhance the overall customer experience and meet customer needs.
  • Work closely with product development, marketing, merchandising, store operations, and finance teams to ensure alignment, integration, and that WNM plans complement the product offerings.
  • Communicate the value and benefits of WNM plans to internal stakeholders and customers, and handle escalated issues related to WNM plans in collaboration with Credit & Customer Services.
  • Develop training programs and materials to educate sales staff on WNM plans, ensuring they are well-equipped to convey the plans' benefits to customers.

Skills You Will Need

Strategic and Analytical Thinking: Ability to develop and implement long-term strategies aligned with company goals and market trends, analyze market data, customer feedback, and program performance for data-driven decisions and continuous improvement.

Leadership and Collaboration: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and customer-centric culture, and effectively collaborating with various departments and stakeholders to ensure alignment and integration of plans.

Customer Service Orientation and Innovation: Deep understanding of customer needs with the ability to design innovative, customer-centric programs that enhance the customer experience, and adapt to changing market conditions and company goals.

Program and Project Management: Strong skills in managing and overseeing programs and projects, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and timely completion.

Communication and Relationship Management: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey the value and benefits of WNM plans to stakeholders and customers, along with strong relationship management skills to secure strong performance with vendors and service providers.

Who You Are
  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply. 5-7 years of Big Ticket operations or Program/Project Management experience required.
  • Master's degree in business, marketing or finance and experience with merchandise care & protection plans a plus.
