Join our dedicated team at AstraZeneca, where we are committed to positively impacting microbial control during the manufacturing of our products. This role will support the identification, execution, and implementation of activities and improvements for microbial control in the manufacturing process. It requires an overall understanding of manufacturing bioprocesses for bulk drug substance and associated testing.

Accountabilities:
As a Bioburden Control Specialist, you will be a key member of the bioburden control team for manufacturing processes. You will collaborate on the contamination control strategy, provide SME input for validation and revalidation related to microbial control, and implement imaginative solutions to complicated problems. You will also coordinate and implement training for personnel in basic microbiology, bioburden control, and aseptic best practices. Additionally, you will assist in ownership for certain quality risk items related to microbial control per process and risk mitigation plan.

Essential Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a Scientific / Biotech / Pharmaceutical / Engineering field of study
- Preferred 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry

Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Master's degree in a Scientific / Biotech / Pharmaceutical / Engineering field of study
- Preferred 3+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry
