Description
Overview : The Santaland Elf and Train Usher positions are ambassadors of Santa Claus charged with helping to spread cheer and goodwill among our Santaland guests. You will be responsible for ensuring a wonderful holiday experience by employing a mix of entertainment and crowd control techniques to maintain the flow of guests passing through Santaland. Essential Functions : ELF: Always be in Elf costume (provided by Macy's) Direct and expedite guest visits with Santa Take photos (on proprietary equipment) Assist with crowd control while maintaining a cheerful disposition Perform other duties as needed Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality Always maintain a cheerful, upbeat demeanor while on stage in front of guests TRAIN USHER: Check guests in for their reservation on proprietary equipment Assist guests with creating a reservation Field guests inquiries Direct and expedite guest into the queue line Assist with crowd control while maintaining a cheerful disposition Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality Always maintain a cheerful, upbeat demeanor while on stage in front of guests Always be in Usher costume (provided by Macy's). Qualifications Education/Experience : Crowd control experience with both adults and children required Customer service experience required Performer experience preferred Communication Skills: Knowledge of a second language helpful Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to effectively communicate with and direct children Mathematical Skills: Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division Reasoning Ability: Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision Must be able to multitask in a fast paced environment Present a professional image consistent with Macy's brand values Physical Demands: May involve prolonged standing and walking May involve lifting heavy objects 30lbs+ including small children Other Skills: Effective communicator Leadership Customer Service Punctuality Cheerful and enthusiastic disposition Ability to engage and entertain children Must be comfortable working in crowded areas and confined spaces Work Hours: Flexible with scheduling and available to work retail hours which may include day, evening, weekends and/or holidays or sales events depending on business needs This job description is not all inclusive.
