Sr. IT Documentation Specialist

Carrollton, TX

The Sr. IT Documentation Specialist is responsible for supporting the IT department in implementing, maintaining and improving IT governance frameworks, policies, and procedures. The role ensures that all IT-related activities align with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices. The IT Technical Writer will also play a key role in managing IT documentation to enhance IT risk, governance and end user experience.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Responsible for authoring, proofreading, editing, rewriting, and authenticating complex user manuals and documents in a clear and concise style.
  • Supports the development of new documentation and processes as needed for new and existing CCF Information Services initiatives and adherence to accepted standards.
  • Improves editorial and visual standards for documents and recommends new designs, layouts, and procedures as needed.
  • Contributes to the development and achievement of organizational goals and objectives
  • Works with Information Services Leadership to understand, document and elaborate CCF aligned policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Defines and documents CCF documentation standards and processes supporting documentation approval, documentation numbering, and a technical documentation library.
  • Develops and maintains Information Services documentation library within SharePoint (or another designated tool).
  • Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve documentation quality.
  • Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and CCF.
  • Provides training to appropriate staff in documentation standards and processes including document review/approval processes.
  • Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and local laws.
Minimum Qualifications

  • 6-8 years of experience as a Technical Writer or Business Analyst with a primary focus on developing and supporting documents such as policies, processes, and procedures as well as RACI development.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Must have expertise with MS Office, Lucid charts or other graphical workflow documentation tools.
  • Ability to interview SMEs and conduct the research necessary to write and compile accurate content.
  • Must be able to lead and complete complex writing and process documentation initiatives with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to instruct and lead others in technical writing and documentation techniques and tasks.
  • Must be able to demonstrate expertise with standard business analysis, business process definition and project management concepts and tools.
  • Must be able to accurately interpret concepts of varying technical complexity.
  • Understanding of relevant applicable laws, regulations, and standards (PCI, NIST, SOX, GLBA).
