Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Development Assistant to join our team. The Development Assistant will play a crucial role in securing funding from government contracts, foundations, and corporate grants to support our mission of providing affordable housing. This position requires strong writing skills, an understanding of grant processes, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:
Research and Identification: Identify potential government, foundation, and corporate funding opportunities that align with Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley's mission and goals.

Proposal Development: Write compelling and well-structured grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and applications that effectively communicate our organization's needs and objectives.

Contact Management: Input and maintain the client management software of fundraising organizations, government agencies, foundations, and corporate partners to enhance funding opportunities.

Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with grant requirements and guidelines. Working with the development team and financial controller prepare and submit timely reports to funders, detailing the progress and outcomes of funded projects.

Collaboration: Work closely with the Development, Finance and Homeowner Services teams to gather necessary information and develop project budgets for grant submissions.

Tracking and Documentation: Maintain detailed records of grant submissions, approvals, rejections, and reporting requirements. Update and manage the grant calendar to ensure timely submissions.

Monitoring Trends: Stay informed through research of trends and changes in grant-making policies, funding priorities, and philanthropic strategies relevant to affordable housing and community development.

Qualifications:
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Strong research and analytical abilities to identify funding opportunities.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Microsoft office skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of affordable housing issues and nonprofit sector preferred.
Prior volunteer experience with Habitat for Humanity
Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field preferred
