Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the Inventory Control Assistant Manager is to be the front-line leader of the of the on-site inventory control team. This role must ensure the accurate completion of required reporting and procedures related to distribution center inventory and audit requirements. Through observation and analysis, the IC Assistant Manager will develop and lead a team of inventory control experts and partner with various DC operational departments to monitor and maintain best practices to ensure inventory integrity. The Inventory Assistant Manager is an accurate and available resource to all operational departments for the Distribution Centers. The Inventory Assistant Manager reports to the Inventory Control Manager or Inventory Control Director as applicable.

Starting Pay: $60,000 - $75,00 annual salary (based on experience)

Responsibilities
  • Direct and prioritize daily activities of IC team (IC specialist and Cycle Counters) including required reporting, tasks, cycle counting, discrepancy research and resolution and projects
  • Ensure all daily/weekly/monthly reporting and audited tasks are completed, accurate, and compliant
  • Reconcile employee time records daily.
  • Partner with leadership and HR to Interview, hire, and train new IC team members
  • Work with leadership and HR to guide performance management through goal setting, performance reviews, development plans and adherence to attendance and safety policies
  • Conduct daily standup meetings to keep the staff informed of current events and provide updates on department and company initiatives
  • Develop product familiarity and identification
  • Become a research expert utilizing various systems to resolve inventory discrepancies and review and authorize inventory adjustments and reconciliation
  • Learn the local DC Operation and develop collaborative inter-departmental relationships to communicate areas of opportunity to improve operational processes and best practices.
  • Understand and support the physical needs of all duties being performed within the department to complete cycle count requirements and support Inventory Control needs at all Distribution Centers, performing backup duties as needed
  • Ability to communicate proactively and effectively including comprehending and communicating detailed instructions, reading and writing, and having knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures as required by the position.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year Leadership experience and/or completion of the internal development program
  • 3+ years of inventory in a warehouse or distribution center environment
  • Experience with writing and delivering performance evaluations and disciplinary actions
  • Mathematical aptitude
  • Proficient understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications
  • Highly motivated team player and self-starter with exceptional integrity
  • Ability to perform independent research and analysis in multiple systems
  • Perform regular department tasks as well as delegate tasks and functions to associates
  • Patience and the capability to train/teach associates
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and re-prioritize departments work
  • Willingness to continuously learn and teach
  • Competence in required areas of the SAP and WMS systems
  • Lift Operator certified (company provided training)
  • Ability to move and lift heavy objects

Physical Requirements
  • Must be comfortable with heights up to 40 ft. in the air
  • Must be able to push or pull or lift up to 250 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be able to listen and hear people and equipment sounds
  • Must see up close and at a distance, adjust focus and use peripheral and depth perception
