Reporting directly to the Head of US Innovation & Business Planning, you will partner across the business on design, development, and management of programs and external partnerships. The US Commercial Innovation role at AstraZeneca is a crucial leadership position within the US Oncology Innovation team. The role involves driving customer-focused innovation at both the brand and enterprise levels in high-priority focus areas. The main responsibilities include identifying, implementing, and scaling initiatives in the Maximizing US Oncology strategic portfolio that directly impact commercial deliverables, patient outcomes, and customer reach. Collaboration with leaders across AstraZeneca, strategic vision, and the ability to drive end-to-end innovation are essential for advancing the mission of securing access and delivering transformative medicines to patients in the US Accountabilities: - Develop innovative initiatives to drive growth and focus on customer needs - Establish B2B collaboration with external partners and US Oncology Franchises - Lead cross-functional teams in agile delivery and iterative learning - Evaluate internal capabilities and external opportunities - Build and validate new investment business cases - Design and provide oversight for measurement activities - Drive customer-centric workstreams across the US enterprise - Lead commercial business development for new channels and customer-centricity Essential Skills/Experience: - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field - 5+ years marketing, sales, strategy or related - Experience in commercial pharmaceutical sales and/or marketing or related consulting industries - Comprehensive understanding of US market and roles of customer-facing teams - Track record of collaboration, strategic problem solving, and project/budget management - Ability to plan, lead, and influence organizational change within complex, matrixed teams - Entrepreneurial and innovative thinking, novel approaches to creating business solutions, with proven results - Understanding of legal/regulatory/compliance requirements and corporate policies and guidelines - Ability to travel (in some cases internationally) up to 10% of time Desirable Skills/Experience: - Advanced degree (e.g. MBA, PhD) in relevant field - Experience in US sales and/or marketing within Oncology - Management consulting and/or experience as entrepreneur - Track record of strong negotiation skills - Understanding of and ability to work within AstraZeneca's commercial operating model - Understanding of AZ brand and sales needs, including knowledge of customer segments, market dynamics, brand strategies, and internal processes When we put unexpected teams in the same room, we unleash bold thinking with the power to inspire life-changing medicines. The annual base salary for this position ranges from $150,539 to $225,809 . However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related experience. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and we reserve the right to modify base salary (and any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
