Critical Home Repair Supervisor

**This is a grant-funded position. Employment period is expected to be one year, which may be renewed upon receipt of additional grant funds or budget allocations to support the position.**
The Critical Home Repair Supervisor works independently in the field to complete critical home repairs for seniors, people with disabilities, and families living on a low-incomes. They are responsible for completing some home repairs independently, as well as setting up and supervising home repair projects completed by skilled volunteers and subcontractors. The position may also supervise a part-time AmeriCorps member or other volunteers. They will provide excellent customer service and build trust with clients in a respectful and culturally competent manner. This position requires a demonstrated ability to improve operations, decrease project turnaround time, and work cooperatively with staff, volunteers, subcontractors, trade partners, homeowners, and community partners.

Responsibilities:
Completes a variety of critical homes repair projects using lead safe work practices. Repairs include carpentry, plumbing, and accessibility aid installation; and may include painting, general maintenance, landscaping and more.
Supervises and leads volunteer and subcontractor projects with support from Committee and others.
Procures and delivers project supplies & materials.
Ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to code and grant specifications.
Reports on unsafe or hazardous conditions. Uses lead-safe work practices.
Maintains work areas in a clean, professional manner.
Ensures high client satisfaction rates.
Maintains complete records of repair work, mileage, project costs, and time.
Maintains and securely stores program materials, supplies, tools, and equipment inventory.
Anticipates and identifies needs.
Completes home visits to develop scopes with support of other staff.
Enters project data into project management database.
Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
This position requires residential rehab project coordination experience as well as demonstrated trades skills in carpentry, painting, plumbing, general home maintenance, and power and hand tool safety.
A knowledge base in building codes and the permit process
Possess excellent verbal and interpersonal skills-able to communicate effectively and build trust with diverse clients, in a respectful and culturally competent manner both on the phone, in writing, and in person.
Must have own vehicle, capable of hauling tools, and lumber
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Must be a self-starter and able to work independently as well as with volunteers with varying skill levels. Strong sense of initiative, flexibility, discretion, and a sense of humor.
Ability to make decisions and creatively solve problems independently and effectively.
Must be able to work with people of varying socioeconomic levels and communicate assigned tasks or convey necessary information to staff and volunteers.
Must possess a positive, optimistic outlook that fosters an upbeat work environment and contributes to a positive volunteer experience.
Working knowledge of Microsoft products including Excel, Word and Outlook.
Working knowledge of Smartphone technology including phone calls, calendar, email, and text.
Be flexible and reliable, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Minor drafting skills needed (wheel chair ramp, decks, railings etc.).
Strong interpersonal and spatial relation skills.
Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate material needs and stair/ramp rise and run required.
Ability to assess the capabilities of others and teach basic construction techniques to unskilled volunteers.
Strategic thinking with ability to adapt to changes.
Excellent oral communication skills; effective with diverse audiences.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Any qualifying combination of education, certification, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Familiarity and experience with project management and scheduling
Experience working with volunteers.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
Job is hybrid and will located at the assigned home repair sites, in office or remote
Position is very active and requires considerable standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching in awkward and tiring positions during varying weather conditions
Employee must frequently lift, move, and/or load items over 50 pounds.

Schedule:
35 to 40 hours a week, with expected regular hours including from 8 AM to 3 PM M-F, at minimum.
Starting Wage Expectations:
$42,000 to $50,000 DOE
