Description Project Summary: The Polyiso R&I Process Engineering Intern work in the Sikeston PolyIso manufacturing plant based in Sikeston, MO where he/she will be part of the plant team and work closely with the plant process engineer, maintenance team, and R&I process engineer on site at the plant. The project will focus on evaluating coatings and coating methods for potential improvements on the high-pressure chemical mixing and dispensing equipment. The intern will learn about the Polyiso industry, chemistry/formulation, raw materials, process safety, process equipment, and product quality requirements. In addition to those, the intern will learn about P&ID drawings and the overall process flow to help best integrate into the plant environment. The intern will receive an introduction to PolyIso end-use applications, manufacturing processes and formulations, as well as lab and pilot-scale chemistry techniques. Basic statistical methods will be utilized to design experiments and analyze data obtained, and the intern will be expected to utilize academic research as a tool to explain the relationship between Science and Process application improvement. The candidate must be willing to receive positive feedback, detailed-oriented, have project management experience, and understanding of data analysis.
