Project Summary:

The Computational Simulation Intern will support the Innovation team at Carlisle CCM by assisting in various computational modeling and simulation projects. This role will provide hands-on experience in applying finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulation techniques to optimize the performance and durability of commercial roofing materials and systems. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to the development and improvement of innovative roofing solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform finite element analysis (FEA) using software such as ABAQUS, ANSYS, or COMSOL to assist in the design and optimization of roofing membranes, adhesives, and related materials.
  • Develop and validate computational models to predict material performance under different environmental and mechanical conditions.
  • Support cross-functional teams, including R&D, product development, and manufacturing, by providing modeling insights throughout the product development process.
  • Assist in designing experiments and analyzing data using statistical methods and Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Contribute to technical documentation, including reports and presentations, summarizing findings and recommendations.
  • Stay updated on advancements in computational modeling, FEA, and related technologies to support ongoing project needs.
