Summary

This Sr Mechanical Engineer role is responsible for providing engineering support of Purchased Product Quality Digital Engineering Initatives; may require specialized qualifications, knowledge, and skill on Model Based Definition, CMM programming, and other Digital Engineering applicaitons. Other expectations include project management, designing, developing, and evaluating quality control functions on highly complex engineering projects and offering innovative solutions to technical problems by applying mathematical, physical science, and advanced engineering technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Recognized authority within area of expertise with wide versatility of experience and capability in Digital Engineering and Model Based Definition practices.
  • Works under general administrative direction occasionally with some latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions.
  • Performs project planning and manages project resources, including multiple individuals and disciplines, to achieve quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Conducts research and development to resolve complex engineering and quality problems involving highly technical digital solutions.
  • Mentors cross functional groups of engineers and staff in establishing operating procedures on new products and components.
  • Utilizes data to define and recommend new processing, inspection, and design solutions.
  • Evaluates and implements innovations and technological advances that improve quality, reduce flowtime, improve productivity, and enhance operational surety.
  • Interacts with design agency and/or supplier counterparts to resolve moderate to complex design, development, production, and acceptance issues.

You Must Have

  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
  • Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited program in Engineering or Physics.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities.
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
