Primary Accountabilities: Establish the state's Affiliate Support Organization (ASO) to formalize a network of support for the Maine affiliates of Habitat for Humanity International. Resource Development Establish and implement a sustainable, and diverse funding strategy to support the financial and operational objectives of the ASO and affiliates. Identify, develop, and administer grants in accordance with funder requirements. Identify and develop individual and corporate donor relationships. Board Governance Cultivate a strong, diverse, inclusive, and highly engaged state-wide Board of Directors to represent each affiliate service area. Collaborate with the Board to develop and implement a strategic plan including quarterly budget and program goals. Support the Board with timely and accurate information. Affiliate Engagement Develop and foster positive affiliate relationships and interactions. Develop, implement, and maintain strategic partnerships benefiting affiliates. Develop, implement, and manage affiliate capacity-building support. Assess needs to determine necessary training support to affiliates. Provide ongoing and consistent communication and collaboration with affiliates to ensure Habitat for Humanity Maine is providing value-added services, products, and programs. Advocacy Lead the support of annual legislative priorities that reflect the needs and values of the affiliates. Develop and maintain positive relationships with state-level elected and appointed officials and other affordable housing advocates. Support affiliate participation in national Habitat for Humanity International advocacy campaigns. General Administration Develop and maintain an annual budget and make quarterly reports to the ASO Board of Directors including variances of approved budget. Track and support affiliates in achieving compliance of all federal, state and Habitat for Humanity International regulations. Submit timely drawdowns for all applicable financial sources (grants). Ensure consistency in all financial and operational functions of the affiliates Required Qualifications: Experience building and leading statewide partnerships. Ability to create a long-term vision and provide leadership in this effort. Ability to establish, foster and maintain effective working relationships with the ASO Board of Directors, funding partners, the public, local governments and community service agencies Ability to work as a self-directed individual contributor Ability to work well independently and in groups. Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information skillfully, and effectively lead by displaying sound and accurate judgment Ability to communicate Habitat for Humanity Maine's program and mission clearly and persuasively in a variety of settings and to a variety of constituencies. Possesses strong written and oral communication skills including public relations and advocacy abilities. Knowledge of effective fiscal management of non-profit organizations, including budgeting and financial planning Knowledge of urban and rural affordable housing industry Knowledge of fundraising principles and processes and the ability to develop working relationships with potential funding sources Must be a good listener and be able to engage in well-considered discussions Must have good anticipatory abilities and personally act on same as need arises Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience required Experience managing a non-profit organization, or other applicable management experience Experience and demonstrated success in grant management Prior experience with resource development and board governance Must pass a criminal background check and sexual offender check The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Travel requirements: Occasional travel (20%) Compensation: Compensation package includes base salary range between $60,000-$70,000 (depending on experience), health care stipend and generous paid time off.
