Associate Director (Diagnostic Alliance Management)

Introduction to role:

We are searching for a candidate to join AstraZeneca's Precision Medicine & Biosamples Function as a Diagnostic Alliance Manager. In this role, you'll be critical in leading and cultivating partnerships between AstraZeneca and its network of Diagnostic Partners. As the Diagnostic Alliance Manager, you will leverage your skills in relationship management to further develop our Diagnostic Partnerships, ensure delivery of joint strategic objectives, and facilitate effective governance management. You will also collaborate with project teams, senior leaders, and diverse stakeholders across various functions of AstraZeneca and our Diagnostic Partner Portfolio.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and Facilitate Key Partnership touchpoints, including joint governance committees & Face to Face Conference Interactions ensuring effective communications & ways of working between parties.
  • Maintain oversight of all programs/initiatives within a partnership providing guidance on issue resolution and advisement of escalation pathways as appropriate.
  • Work with Senior Stakeholders to define & track partnership "must wins" and initiatives.
  • Continuously identify and implement improvements to the partnership operating & governance model ensuring it meets the evolving needs of the Business.
  • Identify Partnership Risks and work cross functionally to mitigate their impact on the value proposition and key deliverables of a Diagnostic Partnership.
  • Lead day to day interactions with AZ's diagnostic partners, acting as a liaison with senior managers and project teams on both sides to build collaboration and trust.
  • In collaboration with Business Development and Procurement, contribute to the contracting process to meet project timelines.
  • Provide timely and accurate business reporting for the Partnership including key metric delivery & scorecards as appropriate.
  • Assist in the development of internal tools, systems, processes, and best practices for the efficient operation of the Diagnostic Alliance Management Function.
  • Act as a spokesperson / ambassador for AZ with external partners to raise the profile of AZ as a partner of choice for Diagnostic Alliance Management

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in life science-based field or relevant subject with 2+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of the role of Diagnostics in Precision Medicine
  • Ability to influence & foster collaboration both within an organization and with external partners
  • Strong networking & relationship management skills
  • Evidence of developing innovative solutions that positively impact delivery within a partnership
  • Experience in problem-solving/conflict resolution in a cross-functional, cross-cultural environment

Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) and/or Master's degree in a life sciences field with equivalent experience working in a business role for an IVD or Biopharma industry organization
  • Experience in the field of Alliance Management
  • Experience in Governance Management and/or Stage Gate Process Development
  • Project Management certification or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of drug discovery and development

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $131,654 to $197,480. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
