This role is pivotal in channeling our scientific capabilities into targeted commercial strategies to make a positive impact on changing patients' lives. As the Director and member of the US Immunology Marketing Leadership team, you'll play a crucial role in advancing commercialization efforts for an expanding Immunology Portfolio.
The Institutional Marketing Director is the US lead for AstraZeneca's advancing presence in account-based engagements and emerging customer segments, shaping brand strategy and insight-aligned executions to address customer needs. This role reports directly to the Sr. Marketing Director Immunology and will sit as a core member of the US Immunology Marketing Leadership Team. This high-visibility, strategic position will work across a matrixed team to develop go-to-market plans that ensure strategic value and impact are delivered within health delivery networks and beyond.
Accountabilities
- Lead and develop Channel Strategies aligning to Institutional and emerging customer segments including IDNs, Community Health Systems, and Supergroups. Establish a cross-functional go-to-market model maximizing Strategic Account Selling framework and customized resources to increase customer impact within the IDN setting.
- Act as the key liaison between the marketing and institutional-based selling teams to ensure timely, clear, and aligned plans are linked to the broader brand strategies and goals.
- Develop account-based go-to-market recommendations; work with Marketing and field leadership to maintain customer segmentation, field deployment recommendations, and orchestrated account execution plans.
- Lead the insight generation and distillation approach across Advisory boards as the lead marketer and partner with I&A to unify insights across critical HCP customer types and stakeholders in key treatment channel settings.
- Support and attend congresses/conferences and partner with Regional Clinical Directors to increase insight generation and competitive intelligence to advance brand strategy.
- Build a dedicated brand strategy to support customer activation across advanced practice practitioners, academia, and fellows. Lead the insight to strategy and execution plans to maximize brand performance.
- Develop and deploy marketing assets which deliver against prioritized value proposition, from briefing through execution.
- Collaborate across a matrixed organization with cross-functional and alliance partners in Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Operations to flawlessly deliver against strategic plans.
- Support Immunology senior leadership team to drive organizational alignments and support critical business decisions, insights, and actions.
Essential Skills/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business required with 8+ years of Pharmaceutical or Healthcare experience & 5+ years of Pharmaceutical Marketing or related experience including: Marketing, Managed Markets, Pharmaceutical Sales, Market Research/analytics, Strategic Planning or Relevant Agency Experience
- Demonstrated leadership in working within cross-functional business units in matrixed organization and demonstrated Learning agility
- Broad knowledge of the branded pharmaceutical development to commercialization processes marketing insight and strategy development model
- Expert written, presentation, strategy analysis and business case development skills with ability to synthesis large information into executive communications
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate, influence at all levels of the organization, lead without authority and work successfully with cross-functional teams & partners
- Requires approximately 20 % travel
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Advanced Degree in business, marketing, or the sciences.
- Broad business acumen with experiences across multiple functions
- Experience in cross-channel, cross-customer marketing
- 5+ years of leadership in managing teams of individuals
- 2+ years' experience in Rheumatology preferred
- Experience across product life cycle (emerging, launch, in-line, mature)
