About the Role: Primient is seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Merchandising Intern to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in agribusiness, including buying/selling grain, managing futures positions, overseeing truck/rail logistics, maintaining customer service relations with farmer customers and freight carriers, and performing commodity market analysis. Responsibilities: Grain Buying/Selling: Assist in buying and selling grain, leveraging market knowledge to maximize profitability. Futures Position Management: Help manage futures positions to mitigate risk and capitalize on market opportunities. Truck/Rail Logistics: Coordinate truck and rail logistics to ensure efficient transportation of commodities. Customer Service: Maintain strong relations with farmer customers and freight carriers, providing excellent service and responding to inquiries in a timely manner. Commodity Market Analysis: Conduct detailed commodity market analysis to inform buying and selling decisions. Qualifications:
What We Offer: This internship will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the agribusiness sector within a dynamic business environment. You will develop practical skills in grain merchandising, futures management, logistics coordination, customer service, and commodity market analysis while working alongside experienced professionals in the field. This internship comes with a $21.00 hourly rate, a $3000 Housing/Travel stipend, and you will receive professional development through the 11-week program. Must possess valid work authorization for the US. We are not offering sponsorship for this role. ITEMS TO NOTE This is a 40 hour per week/Full Time role. This role is On-Site - 5 days a week at our Watseka, IL facility. There is no guarantee of full-time placement at the conclusion of this internship.
