AACC is a tenure-granting institution. Any candidate hired as a full-time faculty member may be eligible to apply for tenure in the future based on institutional eligibility requirements. AACC offers daytime, evening, weekend, hybrid and online classes. Full-time faculty contracts begin Aug. 16 and end June 15

Pay dates occur on the 7th and 22nd of each month. If those dates fall on a weekend, the pay date occurs on the Friday prior to the 7th and 22nd. As an employee of the college, you are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package. .

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach a variety of Anatomy and Physiology courses, including Structure & Function of the Human Body, Human Biology Sequence and Anatomy and Physiology sequence. May also teach Bio 101 or other Biology courses related to expertise. Course schedules may include occasional evening, weekend or condensed formats.
• Remain current on effective teaching and learning practices that promote equity and inclusion for underrepresented groups in science.
• Serve on department and institutional committees.
• Accept any special assignments that further the mission of AACC, particularly collaborating with Health Science programs about our curriculum and efforts.

Required Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Human Biology, Anatomy and Physiology or closely related field.
• Evidence of collaboration and teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Three years of full-time equivalent community college teaching experience.
• Ability to teach a range of courses and adjust expectations and strategies to meet the needs of the course.
• Experience with pedagogy and classroom management techniques designed to maximize student success.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing in Spanish.
• Experience with curriculum development, particularly in an online format.
• Experience working with science outreach activities.
• Ph.D
• Health-care related experience or training.
