Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Assistant Manager, Development Operations is a key stakeholder in all aspects of Development Operations, or Advancement Services, the data processing work of the Development team at Habitat Greater Boston. The Assistant Manager ensures the smooth operation of day-to-day Development activities, including gift processing, data and record management, data quality projects, gift acknowledgements, and supporting related projects within the team and organization. Primary Responsibilities: Incorporate best practices for fundraising operations, data security, and financial processing. Support the CDO in projects and strategic initiatives, including helping to develop and document, operational policies and procedures; training appropriate staff on the gift management system team; maintaining and implementing system integrations; engaging in data analysis; providing project management; and other initiatives as needed. Execute activities related to gift accounting and data management, targeting continuous improvement, increased efficiencies, and improved systems integrations. Assist in the ongoing development and implementation of data quality standards and internal financial controls following industry best practices. Document, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and workflows for all aspects of Advancement Services work. Partner with CDO to assess data collection strategies and suggest changes and/or new initiatives to support Development's ongoing work. Review and validate gift and donor biographical information to support fundraising and engagement efforts. Maintain an understanding of IRS and CASE policies, regulations, and standards pertaining to gift acceptance, processing, and receipting. Assist with donor research in support of major and planned giving efforts. Qualifications: A bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent work experience. Proficiency in the MS Office suite is desired, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Comfortable working independently and as part of a small and collaborative team. Experience in/with a constituent and gift management CRM. Three years of experience in advancement services in a higher education or nonprofit environment is strongly desired. Demonstrated experience in project management and implementing process improvements. Work Schedule: The schedule is full time (40 hours) using a hybrid in-office and remote work schedule.
