Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking a talented professional for the role of a Associate Director - Financial Reporting. This position will be responsible for financial reporting under generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), including research of any new GAAP developments and how they will affect Habitat. The position will also interact with the auditors on all matters. Additionally, this position will assist government grant accounting responsibilities. They will also be able to assist in answering any complex accounting questions that arise related to HFHI, branches, affiliates, and related companies. This position will be remotely based within the US but will be expected to travel to the HFHI Atlanta Headquarters 2-4 times out of the year. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare GAAP basis financial statements both on a monthly interim basis and for the year-end audit for Habitat for Humanity International and related companies. Provide the auditors all requested documentation needed for successful completion of the annual audit. - Assist with the management of the government grant accounting process, ensuring that accounting is in compliance with grant requirements, is free of errors is completed in a timely manner. - Assist the assistant controller in additional internal reporting needing to be done for Habitat for Humanity's various constituents. - Answer questions and perform research into any new GAAP developments that may affect the reporting of Habitat for Humanity and its related companies. - Assist with closing process by drafting monthly journal entries arising from reclassification entries requested by various department/fund/project managers after their review of their monthly reports. Key Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree. - At least 6 years of professional public accounting experience with government grant knowledge. - Knowledge of U.S. GAAP. - Strong computer skills, including extensive knowledge of Excel and database management and experience with various accounting software packages. - Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, team-building skills, and the ability to work in a cross-functional environment with multi-national staff. - CPA certification or actively pursuing certification. Preferred: - Master's Degree. - Bachelor's degree in accounting. - Two to four years in non-profit industry with similar responsibilities. - International experience. The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including location, internal equity and the candidate's qualifications and professional experience.
