Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Data Associate. Dr Joey Palamar is recruiting for a Research Data Associate for his epidemiology study examining self reported use of new psychoactive drugs among nightclub and dance festival attendees. The study is funded by the National Institute of Drug Abuse. The ideal candidates are committed highly motivated individuals who can work effectively independently and in small teams. The research data associate will survey individuals about to enter nightclubs and electronic dance music EDM dance festivals typically late at night. They will also try to obtain voluntary saliva samples from a subset of participants who take the survey. Familiarity with EDM and experience in the scene is a plus. Outgoing individuals who are comfortable approaching and speaking to people they have never met strongly preferred. Research data associates will work in small groups to ensure safety. Job Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Associate s degree plus one year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Computer literate with good interpersonal writing and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in public health psychology sociology or related preferred but not required Previous work experience in an office or research lab environment preferred but not required Excellent English and oral communication skills Interest in the epidemiology of drug use Familiarity with EDM nightclub rave and dance festival scenes strongly preferred Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $26.56 - $28.16 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
