The Volunteer Coordinator/Development Assistant is a key role within Flatirons Habitat for Humanity. The successful candidate will spend their time recruiting, scheduling, thanking volunteers and providing administrative support to the resource development staff. The Volunteer Coordinator/Development Assistant will work closely with the construction staff, administrative staff, volunteers, and homebuyers, to ensure that the organization's mission is fulfilled by providing affordable homes for sale. This position requires a strong detail orientation, familiarity with volunteer and donor management software, and a passion for making a positive impact in the community. Key Responsibilities: Respond to all individual volunteer inquiries Develop and implement a strategy for actively engaging and maintaining new volunteers Act as liaison to other organizations who are sending volunteers Be onsite to assist construction staff with volunteer management and construction training (especially on large group build days) Schedule volunteers to meet the volunteer needs of construction staff Meet with construction staff regularly to schedule volunteers Coordinate the scheduling of groups and skilled volunteers for FHFH (Construction Site, ReStore and administration volunteers) Maintain volunteer database and keep records of volunteer activities, including numbers of teams, volunteers, number of hours worked, contact information, etc. Develop and implement formal and informal volunteer appreciation program Prepare job descriptions for volunteer positions Monitor volunteer satisfaction Arrange for lunch at volunteer sites Ensure that volunteer liability waivers are signed and filed Data base entry of donations and assist with acknowledgement letter mailings Create and post Social Media Postings Assist with development events Requirements: Enthusiasm, teamwork focused, and strong customer service orientation Well organized and detail oriented Effective leadership and team building skills Self- motivated able to work independently Possess tact, diplomacy and flexibility Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to multi-task Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite Physical requirement to do this job: Outside meetings and presentations are frequently required. Some week-end work required.
