THE POSITION

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Manufacturing Lead, MES and Database Specialist to join our team. This multifaceted role will involve expertise in managing and optimizing Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) as well as integrate different systems including database management and development. In addition, the role will require a working knowledge of programming for developing custom application to drive system integrations, automation, and improvements in manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical expertise, programming capabilities, and practical knowledge of manufacturing processes to enhance system performance, data integrity, and operational efficiency across production environments. This person will be traveling up to 50%.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

MES Management:
  • System Implementation & Customization: Lead the implementation and configuration of MES solutions tailored to production needs. Customize features and workflows to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Integration with Other Systems: Integrate MES with other enterprise systems (ERP, PLM, SCADA, PLC, etc.) to ensure seamless data flow and operational alignment.
  • Process Optimization: Work with production teams to continuously identify and implement improvements within the MES contributing to better efficiency, quality, and throughput.
  • Operations Monitoring: Provide real-time visibility into production data, create dashboards, reports using BI tools (eg: Power BI, Tableau etc)
Database Management:
  • Database Administration: Manage databases (SQL, Oracle, etc.) supporting various manufacturing systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and data security.
  • Database Design & Optimization: Design and implement efficient database structures for various manufacturing data systems and support query optimization to handle large-scale, real-time data processing.
Programming:
  • Custom Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain custom applications to automate data flows, integrate systems, and enhance MES functionality using programming languages such as C#, Python, Java, or JavaScript.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support:
  • End-User Support & Training: Provide technical support and training to end-users on MES and related systems.
  • Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work closely with IT, engineering, operations, and other departments to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions to business challenges.
  • Documentation: Develop clear and concise documentation for custom applications, database structures, and system integrations. Ensure all system configurations and processes are well-documented and easily understandable for future reference.

COMPENSATION:
  • Incentive Eligible
  • Salary Range: $113,000 - $141,000

POSTING TIMELINE:
The application period for the job is estimated to be 40 days from the job posting date; however, this may be shortened or extended depending on business needs and the availability of qualified candidates.

BUSINESS UPDATE:

In October, 2024 Honeywell announced the spin-off of our Advanced Materials business to become a stand-alone publicly traded company, independent of Honeywell. Our intention is that this role, dedicated to the Advanced Materials business, will be a part of this future transaction when the separation occurs.

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in managing and optimizing MES systems . (e.g., Aveva/Wonderware, Rockwell MES, Parsec Traksys, DELMIA Apriso, .NET custom development etc.)
  • High Proficiency in SQL and experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Access or similar database technologies for data extraction, maintenance, and reporting.
  • Programming skills in languages such as C#, Python, Java, JavaScript, or similar for custom application development and system integration.
  • Familiarity with SCADA, PLC, IoT, and other industrial automation systems.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard protocols for system integration (OPC, MQTT, REST API, etc.).
  • Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage and optimize large datasets and ensure data consistency and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

WE VALUE
  • Workflow Certifications in MES or Database Administration
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) and how they integrate with MES platforms.
  • Experience in cloud-based technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure) and data storage solutions.
