SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Quality and Compliance Manager, the Quality Engineer III is responsible for utilizing an advanced set of theory combined with practical application to maximize the overall quality of manufactured product with an area of focus involving overall customer experience

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Utilize six sigma methodologies to improve the quality output of processes by identifying and removing the causes of defects and minimizing variability in manufacturing and business processes
  • Define, describe, and distinguish between various continuous improvement models, including Total Quality Management (TQM), six sigma, and theory of constraints
  • Lead development of product and process control methods, including review and approval of control plans and reviewing critical control points
  • Lead activities involved in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), including Product Part Approval Process (PPAP), by demonstrating a deep understanding of quality tools and tool use
  • Continuously review and improve the identification and application of elements of the corrective action process, including problem identification, failure analysis, root cause analysis, problem correction, recurrent control, and verification of effectiveness
  • Participate in the development of Quality Strategic Planning (QSP), Cost of Quality, Measuring Quality and other measurement activities to provide organization with stronger tools to analyze quality performance
  • Continuously review and improve the Identification and application of various preventive action tools, such as error-proofing/poka-yoke, and robust design, and analyze their effectiveness
  • Function as the lead quality engineering representative for specific customer accounts by supporting customer inquiries and complaints, leading customer audits, and supporting business reviews, where applicable
  • Manage data collection plans, including consideration of how the data will be collected, including check sheets, data coding techniques and automated data collection
  • Participate in ISO 9001, AS9100, and federal and civil regulatory activities as determined by Quality Management
  • Support manufacturing operations, including quality trending and data analysis, and oversee containment initiatives
  • Support data flow and identification on area continuous improvement boards
  • Support kaizen activity and related continuous improvement activities
  • Contributes to team effort in a collaborative and supportive manner
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment and adhere to all safety standards, procedures, and regulations
  • Adhere to all factory safety procedures and guidelines
