    Position Overview: Elementary Advanced Learning and Pathways Teacher
    Hours/Day: 8 Hours
    Days/Year: School Year
    Location: 4 positions-Sky Oaks Elementary, Hidden Valley Elementary, Gideon Pond Elementary, and Rahn Elementary
    Compensation/benefits: Burnsville Education Association Contract

    Primary Responsibilities:
    Under the direction of the Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment and the building principal(s) the Elementary Advanced Learning and Pathways Teacher will:
    • Provide direct service to identified Advanced Learning students in grade 2-5
    • Support K-5 teachers with differentiation and enrichment opportunities for students
    • Participate in district identification team to identify Advanced Learning students in grades 2-5
    • In collaboration with district Advanced Learning Team to develop and implement a scope and sequence for advanced curriculum, differentiation, challenging instruction, and opportunities for growth
    • Manage site makerspace resources and deliver instruction aligned with the four Pathways
    • Build a day-to-day experience that leads students to their passion and purposeCollaborate with specialist team to ensure unique Pathways experiences are accessible to all students at each grade level
    • Serve as building contact for grade level acceleration and early entrance
    • Provide oversite for CogAT administration including managing Data Manager, assistance in proctoring, and data interpretation
    • Actively encourage and embrace each member of the school community
    • Create a sense of support that fosters individual growth and pursuit of learning
    • Continually work to understand your own assumptions and biases and how they impact the learning environment
    • Make a commitment to value and manage cultural uniquenesses and adapt education to meet the needs of each student
    • Prepare students to meet "the next challenge" through fostering confidence that comes from adventurous exploration and rigorous academics
    • Develop a culture of trust where students, families, and staff are all reflected in decisions that shape the learning environment
    • Foster student agency in a way that allows and encourages students to make choices that personalize their learning journey
    License / Education Requirements:
    • Licensed by the MN Department of Education as a K - 5 Elementary Teacher
    • Minimum 3 years of classroom teaching experience. 5+ years is preferred
    • Self-directed learner
    • Experience in curriculum development
    • Commitment to equitable programming across all elementary schools
    • Ability to implement new programming with fidelity measures
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and think innovatively
    • Knowledge of research-based best practices regarding instruction for advanced learners.
    • Coursework in gifted education preferred
    • Teaching certificate in gifted education preferred but not required
