Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Maintenance Mechanic - Evening Shift - Mineola. In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for assisting in the year round operations of all Maintenance Shop related functions. Must be capable of performing installation repair and maintenance of a wide variety of building and hospital related items. This includes but is not limited to doors; door hardware; wall and floor coverings; ceiling tile and grid; floor tile; metal stud and drywall; miscellaneous hardware; furniture assembly; repairs to carts and wheelchairs; fire extinguisher maintenance; linen chute maintenance inspection and repair; fire door maintenance inspection and repair; mounting equipment or items to walls; and any other duties which fall under the responsibility of the maintenance shop. Individuals will be assessed on their abilities to properly perform these task as well as follow more general guidelines in the day to day performance of their duties as an employee of not only the engineering department but as an employee of NYU Langone Health. Job Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a High School or GED Technical Diploma; appropriate trade/vocation school graduate. Current NYS Driver's License. 3-5 years working full time in the building maintenance industry preferably healthcare. Excellent communication skills both oral written interpersonal and organizational skills. Must also be able to meet all of the demands of this position with no physical impairments or impediments. Must be familiar with the proper operation and maintenance of power and hand tools. Must be able to read and follow technical documents manuals, drawings schematics specifications and blueprints. Must demonstrate a working knowledge of repairs of all types. Required Licenses: Driver's License Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $86,293.29 - $96,425.23 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
