Join us at AstraZeneca as a Senior Training Specialist at our cell therapy facility in Rockville, Maryland, the newest addition to our global supply network. We aim to make a direct impact on patients by delivering life-saving cell therapies. This is your chance to break new ground and leave a collective legacy! We are investing in internal capabilities across our R&D and manufacturing organizations to help us realize our ambition to discover and deliver next-generation cellular therapies. The Senior Specialist is part of the Training team, responsible for manufacturing training programs and onboarding new staff as well as maintaining qualified status. The Senior Specialist will collaborate closely with the manufacturing department and process subject matter experts.

Accountabilities

• Organize and facilitate process-related training sessions

• Create, own and maintain onboarding program for all new staff

• Super user and subject matter expert for learning management system (Cornerstone)

• Lead the development of training materials, modules, and resources tailored to meet the specific needs of the manufacturing department

• Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information and insights necessary for creating effective training content

• Ensure training materials are up-to-date, engaging, and aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements

• Continuously review and update training content to reflect changes in processes, technology, and regulations

• Drive continuous improvements, standardization using lean, six sigma principles

Essential Skills/Experience

• Minimum BS degree required in biological sciences, engineering, or biotechnology/life sciences

• 3 Years experience in training and development, with a focus on GMP manufacturing

• Strong understanding of learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and training evaluation techniques

• Knowledgeable of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's)

• Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse audiences

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Experience in autologous cell therapy manufacturing

• Experience working with learning management systems

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $64,221 to $96,332. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
