Position Description

Focused on providing customer solutions in a fast-paced environment, this position performs the automated, functional and system level test verification function of Honeywell's customized integrated voice solutions and mobility software. The candidate will be responsible for the development, automation and execution of detailed tests, new and legacy. The candidate may also be required to develop test scripts to perform these tests using our test automation framework. The position requires the candidate to interface cross-functionally with multiple departments. The position requires effective communication skills (verbal and written) and good problem-solving skills. The position requires the candidate to be results oriented with the resolve for a high degree of quality.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop & execute tests to ensure product verification & specification compliance.
  • Perform functional, integration, and system level testing to simulate customer use of Honeywell integrated voice solution and mobility software solutions (automated and manual).
  • Review specification documents change requests or statements of work to prepare test documentation and work effort estimates.
  • Participate in documentation & requirement reviews for completeness & accuracy.
  • Timely completion of verification efforts within defined schedule.
  • Generate defect reports when test specification is not achieved.
  • Provide engineering support to internal groups.
  • Effectively communicate issues cross-functionally and with project management and team members.
  • Participate in the improvement of EVT processes.
  • Coordinate test lab activities for equipment, and tools.


Position Qualifications

Education:
Working toward a BS or MS degree in a technical discipline. Additional classroom or professional development considered a plus.

Experience:
Seeking college student with experience that includes exposure in software testing, development and/or hands-on experience troubleshooting complex custom solutions or projects.

Expertise in one or more of the following technical areas (the more, the better):
  • Developing quality plans, software test plans and procedures from requirements documentation or class project/assignment.
  • Database driven client-server systems and database design (including SQL).
  • Performance and/or functional test tools and scripting languages.
  • Experience with Android, Linux, or iOS mobile platform usage or testing a plus.
  • Development and/or test tools (static or dynamic) preferred.
    Experience with test automation tools (Appium\Selenium) and scripting programming languages (JavaScript and Python).
  • Understanding software engineering methodologies or process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with voice solution products or related technologies are a plus.
  • Knowledge/Understanding of TCP/IP, RF (wireless) & LAN networking protocols is preferred.
  • Knowledge/Understanding of Agile Software Development processes.
  • Experience/Understanding of Acceptance Test Driven Development techniques.
