PURPOSE:
Purpose of the Data Analytics Manager is to execute business objectives with data and ensure alignment with the vision of the company. Individual will organize the technology, processes and financial resources necessary to address the current and future analytics needs of the business. Provides thought leadership and acts as a subject matter expert in the designing and recommending of appropriate analytical approaches and methodologies. Provides management responsibility into data-driven insights that inform the business's strategic direction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Manage a team with a focus on the development of analytics capabilities across the company, including self-service capabilities through technology implementation, best practices and training. Ensure team members serve as a trusted advisor to clients on analytics and data.
  • Interpret statistical analyses and help clients derive meaning from them.
  • Develop and deliver presentations and reports of analytic findings.
  • Develop hypotheses and research questions to address clients' needs. Conduct a wide range of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods analyses to answer clients' research questions.
  • Develop analytic frameworks and select appropriate analytic methods to answer clients' research questions.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand data requirements and with internal and/or external resources to develop tools and services such as segmentation, modeling, dashboard development, decision aids, and business case analysis to support the organization.
  • Uses multiple data sets to create reports and data presentations, and eventually creating data dashboards, for leadership and managerial use.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position manages people.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.

Licenses/Certifications:
  • Data Management\Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) Upon Hire Preferred or
  • Data Management\MapR Certified Data Analyst Upon Hire Preferred
Experience:
  • 5 years Progressive experience relating to data analytics/data analysis.
  • 1 year Supervisory experience or demonstrated progressive experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Team Leadership and Management:
    • Proven experience leading and managing a multidisciplinary data science team, including data scientists, analysts, and machine learning engineers.
    • Strong ability to mentor, develop, and retain talent, fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture.
    • Demonstrated expertise in effectively managing resource allocation to support multiple initiatives concurrently.
  • AI and Data Science Operations:
    • Experience establishing and enforcing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data science and AI practices, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency.
    • Proficiency in creating a Center of Excellence for AI, including driving best practices, knowledge-sharing, and innovation within the organization.
  • Governance and Ethical AI Practices:
    • Strong understanding of AI governance principles, including bias mitigation, explainability, and compliance with ethical and legal standards.
    • Experience in defining and implementing AI guardrails for both in-house developments and vendor-provided AI solutions or tools.
  • Product Management Expertise:
    • Experience in product management, particularly for internal AI/ML-powered tools, with a focus on defining requirements, prioritizing features, and aligning product roadmaps with organizational goals.
    • Ability to manage external-facing AI products, ensuring they meet customer needs and deliver measurable business value.
  • Strategic Vision and Market Awareness:
    • Ability to explore and analyze market trends to identify emerging AI technologies and techniques, applying them to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
    • Out-of-the-box thinking to uncover new opportunities for leveraging AI to enhance products, systems, or processes while optimizing cost efficiencies.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Knowledge of data science and machine learning technologies and tools, such as Python, R, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and cloud-based platforms (AWS SageMaker, Google Vertex AI, Azure ML).
    • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and data engineering tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Kafka).
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Ability to align AI initiatives with broader organizational objectives, ensuring measurable outcomes and ROI.
    • Strong project management skills, with a history of delivering complex AI projects on time and within budget.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Excellent communication skills to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ability to collaborate across teams, including product, engineering, and business units, to align AI initiatives with strategic goals.


  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Strong quantitative and qualitative skills.
    • Knowledge and understanding of analytical tools, such as SAS, Excel, SQL.
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
    • Ability to train others.
    • Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.
    Salary Range: $124,240 - $230,621

This compensation range is specific and considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilites of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, internal peer equity, and market and business consideration. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range, as compensation decisions depend on each case's facts and circumstances, including but not limited to experience, internal equity, and location.
