NJR Home Services (NJRHS), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources is seeking a Sales Manager who will be responsible for the development and sales performance of all solutions for HVAC and Plumbing product lines for residential applications. Directs a sales team and provides leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values. Establishes plans and strategies to expand the residential customer base. Assists and coaches the sales team to generate leads and close deals.
Major Responsibilities:
- Leads and grows the residential sales force based on consistent processes and performance metrics:
- Provides strong leadership that will result in increased sales, profitability and improved relationships with homeowners.
- Builds a cohesive sales team that works together to drive the business and service the client.
- Recruits, motivates and trains the sales professionals to meet or exceed established goals.
- Tracks and communicates status of pre-sale and post-sale opportunities daily.
- Assists sales professionals in the preparation of proposals and presentations.
- Monitors each sales professional's performance and compares it with that month's objective.
- Commits to coaching team members; determining training needs and developing programs to meet those needs.
- Provides feedback on developing skills and maintaining safe practices on the job.
- Promotes teamwork between sales department and field technicians to grow productive sales leads.
- Administers the budgeting process, staff development and succession planning, dashboard development and tracking, vendor relationships and processes, and customer satisfaction and escalated complaint procedures.
- Identifies barriers for the sales staff that impact job performance, costs and customer satisfaction, and develops solutions to remove barriers.
- Develops and manages sales plan and strategies:
- Prepares and submits sales forecasts, does competitive pricing studies and thoroughly understands the competitive pricing structure in our marketplace.
- Establishes sales goals to meet company financial targets.
- Achieves forecasted sales.
- Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines.
- Works closely with installations department to ensure that sales are profitable and that they represent NJRHS as a quality leader in the marketplace.
- Provides analysis of sales data.
- Develops new sales offers and programs.
- Works closely with Marketing to develop promotions and sales tools that will assist the sales team in reaching or exceeding sales targets.
- Supports the operations team:
- Drives and improves processes between sales and operations.
- Works closely with operations manager and supervisors to identify areas of improvement and jointly develop solutions.
- Creates partnerships to increase the customer base:
- Represents the company at trade shows, industry conferences and promotes branding at home and community shows.
- Develops new service offers through partnership arrangements.
- Develops and maintains supplier, vendor, and customer relationships.
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
Position Specifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience as a sales manager with 5+ years of a proven sales track record in residential heating/cooling, electrical, or other home improvement sales.
- Strong project management skills.
- A good working knowledge of the consumer market.
- Must possess an understanding of the principles of solar and HVAC systems design and be able to effectively describe system concepts to managers, vendors, customers, and coworkers.
- Ability to lead and influence others in a positive manner,
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work within tight deadlines (time management skills).
