Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Logistics Manager-Kimmel Sterile Processing-Day Shift (35 Hours). In this role, the successful candidate Manages the systems procedures and means of procurement to supply the patient care units with standard items services and equipment Analyzes utilization needs and practices; develops and implements cost containment and cost reduction programs Responsible for projecting long range goals and implementation of new systems equipment and procedures which affect the operations of patient care areas Participates in training supervision evaluation and deployment of the Sterile Processing Technicians and Coordinator who are involved in ordering and/or maintaining of equipment or supplies Oversees the coordination of instruments standardization of surgical sets and procurement of related items Manages scheduling and time keeping Works directly with nursing and clinical areas to address issues and determine actions to correct Addresses equipment related PSIs Job Responsibilities: Collaborates in the establishment of a non salary budget that provides for the adequate maintenance inventory and purchase of equipment and supplies necessary for patient care nbsp; Evaluates proposed equipment purchases in light of necessity practicality and budgetary restraints Reviews monthly financial reports MFRs to ensure expenses are posted and accurate Projects the total cost impact of proposed equipment and instrument purchases nbsp; Meets to discuss relevant issues with nursing leadership on a regular basis and submits written reports to the Director on opportunities for improvement nbsp; Develops implements and monitors equipment and instrument related policies and procedures which support the organizational goals and business objectives and ensures they are met Maintain and oversees policies and procedures for emergency and downtime situations Responsible for approving scheduling and timekeeping for the department Ensures that appropriate supporting documentation of activities are completed Prepares reports as assigned Works closely with the Infection Prevention Department to establish implement and maintains infection control standards Monitors financial performance and identifies and implements strategies to reduce cost and improve quality of care/service Oversees the implementation and maintenance of equipment instrument and tray standardization nbsp; Ensures all equipment is maintained according to manufacturer rsquo;s specifications Periodically evaluates condition function and appropriateness of existing equipment and makes recommendations to the Director for replacement and upgrading as necessary Establishes and monitors cost containment efforts throughout the department Ensures adequate supplies of appropriate departmental equipment are available and properly maintained; evaluates adequacy of existing equipment and makes recommendations when appropriate for upgrading and expanding current equipment Oversees department inventory and equipment ordering systems to ensure their continued effectiveness Evaluates equipment in terms of frequency of use durability and corrective maintenance Proposes changes in equipment that will add to the efficiency of the service provided with minimal cost increases Receives new equipment and prepares any written guidelines necessary for its utilization Oversees the scheduling of in services with the manufacturer where needed for new or existing technology Arranges for the repair and/or replacement of equipment as indicated Monitors cost of maintenance and repair makes recommendations on this basis Maintains open lines of communication with Department Heads and Supervisors of service departments to provide continuity of services to the patient care areas and proper environment for equipment storage handling and reprocessing nbsp;Addresses customer service complaints and ensures clinical facing staff handle issues appropriately Collaborates with Clinical Engineering Nursing Units and Hospital Operations to ensure proper par levels are set for equipment equipment is in good working order and equipment is tracked in instrument tracking system Ensures staff are following proper equipment cleaning handling and inspection protocol Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree in business management or a related field Five to eight years related experience or experience in hospital or health care facility Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required Preferred Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree Healthcare related field or a combination of similar education and experience Certified Registered Central Service Technician by IAHCSMM or equivalent certification A minimum of a 2 years of progressive leadership experience Preferred Qualifications: 5 years of CSPD experience CIS certification CHL certification Prior experience in Lean Six Sigma or industrial engineering Proficient in MS Office Experience with inventory control and supplies Experience with instrument tracking system Experience with data analysis and presentation skills Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $81,325.15 - $95,000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
