Job Overview
The Senior, Product Manager supports Macy's Product Management teams in building and defining digital products. These products enable Macy's customers to shop seamlessly across channels and empower colleagues and vendor partners to work efficiently and effectively. The goal is to delight customers, drive colleague engagement, and maximize business KPIs. A Senior Product Manager identifies critical user problems, assesses the impact on target business outcomes, and crafts a vision for leveraging technology to solve these problems, drive outcomes, and maximize ROI. They collaborate with tech, analytics, UX, and functional/business SMEs in an Agile & Lean product delivery environment throughout the entire product lifecycle, from strategic planning to tactical execution and post-launch measurement.
What You Will Do
User-Centered Ideation & Discovery- Conduct customer research to develop empathy, identify critical problems, understand expectations, behaviors, mental models, and decision-making approaches.
- Conduct business stakeholder interviews to grasp operational complexities, strategic objectives, impacts, and considerations.
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative data (internal and external) to aid prioritization.
- Analyze the competitive landscape and recommend positioning strategies.
- Analyze industry trends and emerging opportunities, considering their impact on shifting customer expectations.
- Partner with technology teams to evaluate technical constraints, complexities, and capabilities.
- Perform financial modeling for ROI analysis.
- Develop a strategic roadmap outlining near and long-term visions that drive iterative value.
- Tell the product's story and socialize it with business and technology stakeholders.
User-Centered Scope Definition & Prioritization- Develop use cases, journey maps, and hypotheses.
- Break down the product vision into a release strategy, allowing for iterative delivery, minimizing technical risk, validating with users sooner, learning, and delivering value sooner.
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to align around prioritized problems to solve and outcomes to drive, rather than merely listing features.
- Work with UX to define information architecture and content strategy.
- Identify KPIs and operational metrics for each scope slice.
Stakeholder Management- Navigate complexities of cross-brand, cross-channel, cross-division, and cross-functional stakeholder landscapes, driving alignment and engagement among sponsors, business owners, working groups, and senior stakeholders.
- Conduct interviews, facilitate working groups, hold one-on-ones, and organize group showcase forums to drive alignment, uncover operational impacts, coordinate readiness activities, and ensure product training and ownership transfer.
Agile Product Delivery- Collaborate with the Iteration Manager, Tech Lead, QA, and engineers to continuously improve and maximize the delivery team's output.
- Prioritize user stories for each iterative delivery, partnering with UX, tech, QA, and business SMEs.
- Maintain an outcome focus by adjusting the product roadmap, release strategy, and scope priorities based on agile environment realities and new information.
Product Hindsighting- Work with the analytics team to develop and implement a test strategy to validate key hypotheses throughout iterative delivery.
- Measure the impact of the product post-launch using engagement, operational metrics, and KPIs, leading to recommendations for continued investment or pivoting.

- Candidates with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply. MBA or a degree in Pricing is a plus.
- 5-7 years of Product Management experience and 3-5 years of retail experience.
- Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
- Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
