Brief Job Overview This position is responsible for the management of IT projects involving the development and implementation of business processes in technologies to meet identified business needs, acquiring, and utilizing the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales, and quality. This role involves the adoption and adaptation of project management methodologies based on the context of the project and selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches. The IT Project Manager has the following responsibilities: • Takes full responsibility for the definition, approach, facilitation, and satisfactory completion of medium-scale and large-scale projects (typically with direct business impact and firm deadlines). • Identifies, assesses, and manages risks to the success of the project. • Ensures that realistic project plans are maintained and ensures regular and accurate communication to stakeholders. • Adopts appropriate project management methods and tools whether predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches. • Ensures quality reviews occur on schedule and according to procedure. • Manages the change control procedure and ensures that project deliverables are completed within agreed cost, timescale, and resource budgets, and are signed off. • Provides effective leadership to the project team and takes appropriate action if team performance deviates from agreed tolerances. • Monitors and controls resources, revenue and capital costs against the project budget and manages expectations of all project stakeholders. • Ensures end results are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefits. • Leads and manages projects often involving multiple internal and external constituents and matrix partners. • Manages scope and risk to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed upon time, cost, and quality parameters. • Monitors, controls, and validates financial forecast, resources, and capital costs against the project budget and provides ongoing reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures in alignment with project stakeholders’ expectations. • Develops communication plans and appropriate vehicles to execute on responsibilities. • Represents the project in briefings to sponsors, key stakeholders, governance, and inter department forums. • Defines and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated project schedule and delivery plan. • Develops the project charter, integrated project plan, resource plan, risk plan, and related project management artifacts; publishes periodic project status reports. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of our mission, commitment to excellence through inclusive and equitable behaviors and practices, ability to quickly build credibility with stakeholders, along with the following competencies and experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field. • Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated outcomes delivery across different types of high-value IT projects or equivalent experience of which three (3) years should be hands on project management in an IT environment managing a variety of complex projects. • Communicates fluently, orally and in writing, and can present complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences. • Plans, schedules, and monitors work to meet time and quality targets. • Facilitates collaboration between stakeholders who share common objectives. • Selects appropriately from applicable standards, methods, tools, and applications. • Seeks specialist knowledge or advice when required to support own work or work of immediate colleagues. • Experience in implementing stakeholder engagement/communications plans. • Experience in dealing with problems and issues, managing resolutions, corrective actions, lessons learned and the collection and dissemination of relevant information. • Experience in collecting and using feedback from customers and stakeholders to help measure effectiveness of stakeholder management. • Experience in developing and enhancing customer and stakeholder relationships. • Demonstrated experience successfully managing multiple projects within agreed to scope, schedule and budget. • Possess exceptional interpersonal skills, communication skills, facilitation skills, and the ability to assess and manage client expectations. Base Salary Range: USD $ 85,500.00 – 111,250.00 annually.
