Overview

Payment Networks is the nervous system of Mastercard business. We engineer enterprise solutions to Expand in Payments and Extend our Services globally to serve our customers.

The Payment Networks comprises of mission critical Authorization, Clearing, Settlement, Services Enablement and Global Real Time Payments platforms. This is the Engine that pulls Mastercard's business connecting thousands of customers globally, switching billions of transactions annually with Mastercard good customer experience.

The Senior Vice President, Software Engineering will be responsible to engineer solutions that enable Mastercard customers and internal stakeholders to leverage Payment Networks platforms and enable services on transactions.

Role:

- Strategic technical leader who brings considerable experience designing and implementing highly scalable technology solutions using a broad range of technologies
- Define the structures and operating mechanisms to run your organization while shifting to a data driven and continuous learning culture across your organization
- Inspect the delivery plans and execution metrics using your own tech depth and delivery experience to assess risks and continuously raising the bar
- Provides strategic thinking and leadership related to a wide range of applications and systems, or software-development methodologies
- Build and cultivate strong internal customer relationships to establish engagement models for your team, ensure delivery of quality products in alignment with expectations, and uncover cross company requirements.
- Collaborates with business/product owners to develop and deliver on new services to address market, customer, and product needs.
- Actively encourage the development of your managers and your technical staff while continuously raising the bar on performance, technical depth, program management results, and people management as you hire new managers
- Emulate and drive Mastercard Way behaviors through their behavior, recognitions, coaching, and employee engagement
- Sets the vision for an environment of ingenuity and creativity and acts as a role model for others in challenging the status quo to encourage innovation

About You:

- Highly collaborative and balanced decision-maker who leverages data, insights, and strong communication to prioritize key strategies needed to enable customers and internal stakeholders to leverage Payment Networks Platforms and enable services on transactions
- Passion for bringing solutions to market, strong IT experience with successful track record in managing medium-to-large scale multi location development organization (100+ staff) with demonstrated thought-leadership, cross-functional influence, and partnership
- Ability to manage objectives and pipelines, build business cases, define success metrics and interpret P&L to optimize the business
- Technical leader who has delivered highly scalable and configurable platforms at leading technology or financial companies. Understands architecture, trade-offs and how to build platforms
- Experience managing multiple functional areas within technology such as technical architecture, software development, and production support
- Experience in managing contracts for technology delivery with vendors and service providers
- Develop leaders within the team - empowered to operate autonomously with support when needed
- Has the executive presence to work with senior leaders within Mastercard and with our customers
- Familiar with cutting edge industry trends and thorough understanding of development methodologies and standards
- Trusted partner with internal and external stakeholders - providing consultative technical and business leadership.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
