Join U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for a career fair on December 12, 2024, from 10:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. (Pacific Time) to learn more about our humanitarian mission and how joining USCIS can be the start of a meaningful career. USCIS is the government agency that oversees lawful immigration to the United States, delivers decisions to individuals, families, businesses, workers, and those seeking a place of safety and shelter in our country, whether they filed applications, petitions, requests, or appeals. The work of USCIS employees makes the possibility of America a reality for immigrants, for the communities and economies they join, and for the nation. USCIS administers several humanitarian programs, domestically and abroad, to assist individuals seeking protection from persecution or torture, survivors of trafficking, domestic violence, or other serious crimes, individuals fleeing disasters or other temporary and urgent circumstances. By working in close collaboration with the Departments of State and Health and Human Services to fulfill the United States’ protection obligations, USCIS’ unique humanitarian programs have long been a beacon of hope and inspiration for individuals around the world seeking protection and refuge. Positions eligible for Direct Hire Authority (all U.S. Citizens and Nationals): Asylum Officer GS-7/9/11/12*- Adjudicate asylum applications, conduct credible and reasonable fear screenings, and adjudicate other benefit applications managed by the asylum program, including motions to reopen and reconsider. Available at the following locations: Bethpage, NY, Houston, TX, Newark, NJ, San Francisco, CA, and Tustin, CA.
Immigration Officer GS-11/12/13 - Conduct extensive inquiries, detailed research and analysis and liaise with law enforcement organizations and intelligence agencies to investigate allegations of potential fraud, address national security concerns and combat public safety threats within the immigration system. Available at the following locations: San Francisco, CA, and San Jose, CA.
