This Audiovisual Production Specialist position is within the Office of Public Affairs, Visual Communications Division, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), located in El Paso, Texas.

Eligibility: Veterans under VEOA; certain military spouses who reside within the local commuting area (LCA); current federal employees with competitive status within the LCA; federal employees who meet the definition of a displaced or surplus employee; and current and former Land Management employees who meet the Land Management Workforce Flexibility Act within the LCA.

In this position you will conceptualize and conceive a variety of broadcast programs in support of agency informational initiatives. In so doing you will consult with clients to discuss the general concept, objective, and target audiences of the programs. Your duties may include but are not limited to:

· Serving as an Intermediate Multimedia Producer, designing sets and lighting, conceiving and creating visual elements, selecting music and sound effects, rehearsing talent, and selecting and directing cameras and movement during recording sessions and broadcasts.

· Conceptualizing and conceiving a variety of broadcast programs in support of agency informational initiatives.

· Utilizing your experience with digital asset management to maintain an imagery asset database; review video produced in the field to identify appropriate clips for media releases and other messaging products.

· Configuring and operating high-definition digital television equipment/systems and assisting in the recording and distribution of live and pre-recorded video productions.

 

Salary and Benefits:

This position starts at a salary of $86,962.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $113,047.00 (GS-12, Step 10), with promotion potential to GS-13, Step 10.

Qualifications

You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:

 

· Experience as a multimedia field producer with expertise in the documentation, editing, and presentation of visual information in direct support of organizational priorities.

· Acting as a technical manager by handling all management and direction of assorted types of live and recorded programming ranging from highly structured to informal information and/or senior executive messaging.

· Acquiring, safeguarding, and managing operations of highly technical and valuable electronic equipment and operating technical equipment such as cameras in both remote and fixed situations.
