Summary:

The Advanced Practice Provider functions in collaborative practice with emergency medicine physicians in a high volume emergency department. Autonomously performs patient assessment, diagnosis, and interventions according to approved protocols and scope of practice. Prescribes a variety of modalities to meet wellness and illness needs, up to and including hospital admission.

Education and Experience

Advanced Practice Registered Nurses
  • Master's Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered
  • Family or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification required. Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience or related specialized area strongly preferred.
OR

Physician Assistants
  • Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies and minimum 1 year of experience in related specialized area strongly preferred.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification

Advanced Practice Registered Nurses
  • Current Texas professional registered nurse license
  • Current Texas professional advance practice registered nurse license
  • Family or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
OR

Physician Assistants
  • Current Texas professional physician assistant license
  • Certified as a PA-C
  • Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
