Senior Credit Risk Analyst

Remote

The Senior Credit Risk Analyst will generate insights from data, designing and deploying new strategies that impact the company's initiatives. This role will be responsible for developing and executing data-driven, customer-centric strategies for new customer underwriting and account management that will lead to profitable growth. Improving risk processes using automation and process controls will be a particular focus for this position. No day is the same while you work on projects with high impact across the organization, helping the businesses improve processes, save costs, and achieve better outcomes.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Use data analytics to identify and mitigate credit risks associated with new customer origination and account management to optimize portfolio growth. Identify actionable insights, suggest recommendations, and influence the direction of the business by effectively communicating results to cross functional groups.
  • Own the full lifecycle of automating key risk processes, performance monitoring and exception handling. Research and develop new methods and tools that will improve the business. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of risk processes and performance, driving improvements over time.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging credit trends and adapt the company's strategies accordingly. Implement statistical process controls to alert of meaningful changes in trends across the portfolio.
  • Engage with cross-functional team to translate business questions into statistical and machine learning paradigms. Adhere to quality assurance standards, documentation standards, using version control, and code repositories.
  • Builds relationships by establishing trust, confidence and credibility with peers and senior leaders. Build and maintain productive partnerships with key areas of the business (e.g., Operations, Risk, IT, Compliance) to ensure strategies are comprehensive, fit for purpose and executed as designed.
Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/MS in a quantitative discipline (computer science, engineering, data science, statistics, math, operation management) or equivalent working experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in applying analytical and technical skills to automate operational workflows.
  • Proven success in analyzing large amounts of data which foster actionable business decisions. Intermediate to advanced experience in SQL, R or Python.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment. Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements.
