The Vice President, Sales Operations will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of sales operations for the Anatomic Pathology practices to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with company goals. They will play a critical role in driving revenue growth, optimizing sales processes, and enhancing the overall performance of our sales teams.
Supervisory Responsibilities: There are no direct reports for this role, however, you will have a dotted line to multiple stakeholders.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Annual Sales Planning & Strategy Development: Collaborate closely with senior leadership to develop comprehensive territory and sales plans that align with overall company objectives. Utilize data-driven insights and industry trends to set targets aimed at driving sustainable revenue growth and enhancing overall market penetration.
- Sales Forecasting, Reporting & Analytics: Lead the development and continuous refinement of accurate sales forecasts using advanced analytics and data-driven methodologies. Generate regular performance reports, providing senior leadership with actionable insights to track progress against sales targets. Facilitate strategic sales meetings, including the Annual Sales Kickoff, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), Pipeline Reviews, and Customer Conference preparation.
- Sales Performance Management & Coaching: Establish, monitor, and refine key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure consistent sales team performance. Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance support to improve efficiency and drive continuous improvement across the sales organization.
- Commission Plan Design & Management: Design, implement, and continuously optimize commission structures that align with corporate objectives and fairly incentivize high-performing sales teams. Ensure the equitable distribution of rewards and encourage performance that supports company-wide revenue goals.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build and nurture productive relationships with key departments including Marketing, Finance, and Operations to drive alignment and ensure seamless customer experiences. Work collaboratively to identify and maximize revenue opportunities across business units.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
- 9+ years of sales operations experience in the healthcare, or biotech industry, with a proven track record of success in driving revenue growth and operational excellence.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making and a focus on results.
- Demonstrated proficiency in sales process optimization, sales forecasting, and performance management.
- Experience with Salesforce and other sales technology tools.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to think creatively, anticipate future trends, and develop innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
