Job Summary
The Site Safety Champion for Carlisle Architectural Metals (CAM) is the EHS (environment, health, and safety) point of contact for the assigned site. The Site Safety Champion is responsible for maintaining the site's EHS program in partnership with the Operations Manager. This position is responsible for ensuring the Site-Specific Integrated Safety Plan (SSISP) is executed, maintained, and communicated at the site.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as the on-site EHS point of contact for operations, Regional Safety Specialists, regulators, and other outside agencies.
- Assist Site Leadership with strategic planning across the site which includes leading/lagging safety data analysis and problem solving
- Prepare implement and execute safety training, on boarding, mentoring and associate BBS Observations
- Manage the completion of EHS tasks/actions utilizing EHS digital platform (Gensuite)
- Manage related EHS ISO programs such as ISO 14001
- Conduct comprehensive safety standard work assessments, PPE assessments, ergonomic assessments and policy audits throughout the entire site
- Manage and understand how to retrieve applicable EHS files such as training, inspection records, safety work orders and other applicable maintenance records.
- Schedule and attend safety committee meetings, organize, and develop a safety team.
- Support the EHS incident investigation process (coordinating investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions,).
- Establish and drive site safety goals.
- Conduct yearly audit of written safety programs (LOTO, confined spaces...).
- Act as a liaison between EHS and operations, COS, maintenance, and quality.
- Manage the EHS aspect of any process change and/or equipment change.
- Coordinate and track safety celebrations.
- Track EHS training program completion rate and conduct EHS trainings for new and existing employees.
- Exhibit and influence a high level of safety awareness by following all safety guidelines
- Facilitate monthly condition walks.
- Be the subject matter expert for risk assessment, behavior-based safety and other applicable EHS programs.
- Manage personal protective equipment (PPE) by specifying required PPE for applicable risks.
- Effectively influences site safety.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- OSHA compliance training and good understanding of PSM standards
- Strong presentation skills with a solid understanding of mathematical tools
- Solid problem-solving skills, experienced in utilizing accelerated root cause methods
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills required
- Strong time management, team building, and systems sustainment skills
- Knowledge of other software tools such as Mini-Tab, Visio, and Skype
Education and Experience:
- Required:
- High School Diploma
- OSHA 30 completed or willingness to complete
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing facility and office setting.
- All required PPE will be provided.
- Monday through Friday; typically 1 st shift but overtime may be required to accommodate other shifts.
