Duties As a Lead Personnel Security Specialist (Operations), you will: - Ensure that the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products, and services. - Report to the supervisor periodically on team and individual work accomplishments, problems, progress in mastering tasks and work processes, and individual and team training needs. - Assist with coordinating and monitoring the PSD budget for investigations, adjudications, credit reports and supplies. - Evaluate and approve Statements of Work to determine the contract risk level and coordinates with COR to verify risk designations when required. Qualifications You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience for the GS-13: One year of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent, that is directly related to the position, and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized Experience for this position includes ALL of the following: - Reviewing derogatory or conflicting information from personnel security application documents and obtaining additional information to clarify questionable or discrepant information in order to make recommendations; AND - Participating in special studies, preparing findings, and making recommendations for improvements to policies and procedures related to the Personnel Security Program; AND - Participating in the auditing, tracking, and reporting of pending background investigations. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12level for 52 weeks.
