New Jersey Resources is seeking a Sr. Risk Control Analyst to prepare risk reporting and system configuration to maintain the integrity of the data used for the analysis of all reporting and output. Utilize energy trading and system domain knowledge to design, implement, and provide support for enhancement projects. Work closely with the front, mid, and back office members to ensure compliance with the risk policy and provide regular and ad-hoc reporting. Contributes to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications, providing specialized technical knowledge to applicable projects. Monitors and manages the credit risk associated with our counterparties in the unregulated and regulated trading businesses.

Major Responsibilities:
• Monitor all trading activity for Natural Gas, Power and Renewables to facilitate reporting of risks, transaction capture and processing.
• Maintain data integrity in system of record, Aligne.
• Prepare risk reports and information from various systems to enable reporting and analysis in preparation for Risk Management Committee meetings. Manages meeting minutes, documentation and communications related to discussion items. Participates in the review and approval of Risk Management Guidelines.
• Design, implement, and support enhancement projects utilizing energy trading and system domain knowledge.
• Assist in the research, testing, and development of additional risk reporting tools as required.
• Collaborate with IT to develop analytical tools to improve underlying risk system infrastructure.
• Monitors control environment, including Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
• Prepare the reporting for each compliance documents for Dodd-Frank, Index Price and Canadian Import/Export.
• Credit Risk: Evaluate the creditworthiness of counterparties by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data.
o Monitor the credit risk exposure of counterparties and take appropriate action.
o Prepare detailed reports on credit risk assessments and present findings to senior management.
o Ensure all credit risk activities comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
o Works closely with trading, legal, and compliance teams to manage and mitigate credit risk.
• Performs special projects as assigned.
• Work cross functionally with team to support all areas of finance as needed.

Position requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, accounting or related field
• 5 years of experience in a similar function within energy commodities
• Working experience with risk management systems required; knowledge of SunGard/Aligne products preferred
• Strong knowledge of hedging, risk management practices and the North American natural gas, power, and renewable markets preferred
• Advanced ability to develop and maintain financial models (Excel, Power Bi, VBA, SQL)
• Continuous improvement mindset, utilizing tools to streamline and automate objectives
• Strong business analysis, research and problem solving skills
• Technologically oriented with strong computer skills including proficiency with MS Office
