Summary:

The Nutrition Program Coordinator at the Neighborhood Health Center provides patient-centered nutrition support through healthy cooking demonstrations, hands-on guidance, and individualized nutrition assessments. Using a demonstration kitchen, this role prepares and delivers engaging nutrition programming to empower patients, families, and community members, promote nutritional knowledge, and foster healthy eating habits supporting disease management. The Nutrition Program Coordinator provides weekly clinical outpatient medical nutrition therapy, assisting patients with personalized dietary plans that align with their health needs. Works in close collaboration with primary care providers to deliver nutrition intervention and education following the Nutrition Care Process model. The Nutrition Program Coordinator networks with community partners and vendors who desire to use the demonstration kitchen for outreach purposes.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university required.
  • 2 years of relevant registered dietitian work experience in a community-based, public health, or pediatric setting required.
  • Prior work experience leading cooking demonstrations and/or creating nutrition education programming preferred.
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification:
  • Current Registered Dietitian as delineated by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, Certification/Licensure as required by the state of Texas.
  • Must obtain City of Fort Worth Food Handlers Card within 30 days of hire.
