Title: Part-Time Faculty - Histotechnician Program (HT) Department: Health Sciences Campus Location: Arnold/Main Campus Salary Range: $1,114 - $1,203 per FLH Work Mode: This position requires some regular in-person presence on campus or at alternative locations, depending on business needs of the office. Hours Per Week: Work Schedule: Monday-Friday Position Type: Part-Time Faculty, Exempt Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated, year-round part-time faculty member for our Histotechnician Program who will play a pivotal role in both lab and clinical education. In the fall semester, this faculty member will assist with the preparation, supervision, and instruction of lab classes, ensuring students gain hands-on experience in histotechnology. During the spring semester, the role will focus on supporting students in clinical placements, aiding communication with clinical personnel, and conducting clinical site visits and check-ins to monitor student progress. This position offers the opportunity to mentor future histotechnicians while fostering strong relationships with clinical partners and providing essential support across academic and clinical training phases. If those dates fall on a weekend, the pay date occurs on the Friday prior to the 7th and 22nd As a part-time faculty employee you are entitled to these benefits Job Duties and Responsibilities Observe, instruct, and evaluate histotechnology students in clinical and/or laboratory settings on a weekly to bi-weekly basis. Provide timely, constructive feedback to students regarding their technical and clinical skills. Enforce program policies and foster a positive learning environment in clinical and lab. Communicate effectively with clinical site personnel to ensure alignment on student performance and program expectations. Submit all required clinical evaluations and assessments to the Clinical Coordinator in a timely manner. Respond promptly to emails, information requests, and required evaluations. Visit off-campus clinical sites as needed while maintaining an on-campus presence for meetings and other program responsibilities. Stay current with advancements in histotechnology and maintain professional competencies. Attend and contribute to faculty meetings, workshops, and other program-related activities as required. Adhere to AACC's employment policies and clinical partner onboarding requirements. Contribute to accreditation preparation and compliance, including reports and site visits as needed. Participate in program and student assessment processes as appropriate. Maintain confidentiality regarding student information. Required Qualifications: REQUIRED: Candidates must meet the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) qualifications for adjunct faculty, including:Academic and/or professional credentials appropriate to the content area. Three years of relevant experience. Demonstrated knowledge in course development, instruction, and student evaluation. Maintain and hold Active certification as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or an equivalent accrediting body. Current CPR certification. Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Associate's degree |
