Description

As a Painter Level 2 here at Honeywell, you will be operating a paint spray gun that utilizes compressed air to apply paint evenly to surfaces, often requiring skills like mixing paint accurately, adjusting spray patterns, masking areas, and maintaining the equipment to achieve a quality finish. You will ensure that all painting activities are completed in accordance with quality standards and customer specifications. This role requires attention to detail, strong technical skills, and a dedication to delivering high-quality work.

You will report directly to our Production Supervisor, and you'll work out of our Muncie, IN location.

The industrial spray painter will spray surfaces of manufactured products with protective material such as enamel or epoxy using sophisticated equipment systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate assigned equipment and working in paint booth.
  • Respirator use required pending successfully passing medical evaluation.
  • Proper handling of paint and chemicals per OSHA regulations
  • Ensure data quality and compliance with established standards through accurate recordkeeping and good documentation practices
  • Perform painting and coating operations on various products and components
  • Ensure that all painting activities are completed in accordance with quality standards and customer specifications
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer
  • Be capable of reading and understanding technical documents such as paint mixing procedures, and maintaining sprayer equipment as required
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of painting supplies and materials
  • Standing for extended periods of time at job station

YOU MUST HAVE
  • 1+ year of experience in painting and coating operations
  • Experience handling chemicals and painting
  • Knowledge of painting techniques, tools, and equipment
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
WE VALUE
  • Previous painting experience using a Paint Spray Gun
  • Experience in industrial painting or automotive painting
  • Certification in painting or coating application
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines for painting operations
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
