As a Sr. Health and Safety Specialist here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for overseeing and directing the organization's health, safety, and environmental engineering efforts. You will ensure the highest standards of health and safety for employees, compliance with environmental regulations, and the implementation of best practices in engineering-related safety. You will report directly to our HSE Manager and you will work out of our Orange, TX location on a On-site work schedule.

In this role, you will impact our organization by overseeing the development and implementation of health and safety programs that ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards. Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders will ensure that HSE considerations are integrated into business processes and decision-making, contributing to the overall success and reputation of our business as a responsible and sustainable organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement comprehensive HSE strategies that align with the organization's mission, ensuring a culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility.
  • Lead and manage a team of HSE professionals, including engineers, specialists, and support staff, ensuring efficient and effective HSE engineering practices.
  • Ensure that the organization complies with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, permits, and certifications.
  • Stay updated on changing regulations and industry best practices.
  • Develop and implement proactive safety measures, training, and policies to prevent accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses in the workplace.
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards, providing engineering solutions and preventive measures.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans for HSE-related incidents, including accidents and environmental emergencies.
  • Develop and manage the HSE budget, allocate resources, and seek cost-effective solutions to maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental protection.
  • Promote environmental sustainability by implementing eco-friendly practices and minimizing the environmental impact of the organization's operations.
  • Establish and enforce quality control standards in HSE, conducting regular inspections and performance assessments.
  • Collaborate with various internal departments, senior management, and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication, training, and education on HSE matters.

YOU MUST HAVE
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 6+ years of experience in Health and Safety regulations
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
  • Proficiency in budget management and financial acumen.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and strategic planning abilities.
